Mirror mirror . . .

People don't understand how I see.  If I get up right now, deciding I'm ready to go out, if I look in the mirror, I might appear to be ancient.  I'll see beyond those wrinkles and sags, wondering what happened.  AND when I come back from the store, I might see another me, she'll be different for sure, older, younger, fatter, thinner, different and I say to myself, "yep, that one's not real either."  People want to blame that on "self-esteem" issues and that is simply not true.  I don't recognize myself in pictures either, I find me, if it's not obvious, by what I remember wearing.  Don't worry, I can recognize everyone else, it's my own face I don't know.

    About Janet:

Janet DeLong, PhD, is a philosophical writer.  She'd tell you that is by default, we know it's by design.  While her perceptions are not always comfortable, they are always
    intriguing.
